Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
In short: we use your photos, answers and contact details to prepare your report. Your photos are kept as part of your report while your account is open and permanently deleted within 30 days after you ask us to delete your account. We never sell your photos, use them in advertising, use them to identify you, or use them to train any model.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how LA CLARTÉ ("we," "us") collects, uses and shares personal information through the laclarte.org website and the LA CLARTÉ mobile app (together, the "Service"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at bonjour@laclarte.app.
2. Information we collect
- Identifiers and contact details: first and last name, email address, date of birth, gender.
- Photos and face geometry: the face photos you upload, measurements derived from them (facial landmark points, proportions, symmetry values), and images created for your report (before/after, hairstyle, beard and makeup simulations).
- Questionnaire answers: your goals, lifestyle, habits such as smoking, and interest in aesthetic procedures. Some answers may relate to your health.
- Purchase information: purchases, subscription status, refunds, amounts. We never receive your full card number.
- Device and usage information: IP address, device and browser type, session and cookie identifiers, pages and steps viewed, error and access logs.
- Marketing information: the ad or campaign that brought you to the Service (campaign parameters, ad click identifiers).
- Communications: emails and support requests you send us.
We collect this information directly from you, automatically through cookies and similar technologies, and from our payment processor when you make a purchase.
3. How we use information
- To prepare, deliver and update your report and plan;
- To create and secure your account and provide support;
- To process payments, renewals and refunds;
- To measure and improve the Service and fix errors;
- To measure the results of our advertising;
- To prevent fraud and abuse and to comply with the law.
We only send service emails (sign-in codes, report-ready notices). If we ever want to send marketing emails, we will ask first.
4. Biometric information
To prepare your report, the Service measures the geometry of the face in the photos you upload. Some US state laws treat these measurements as biometric identifiers or biometric information. This section is our public policy for that information.
- Purpose: we use face geometry only to prepare and update your report. We do not use it to identify or recognize you or anyone else.
- Collection: it is created only when you choose to upload photos for your analysis.
- No sale: we never sell, lease or trade biometric information, or otherwise profit from it.
- Disclosure: only to service providers that process it on our behalf to prepare your report, when required by law, or with your consent.
- Retention and destruction: we keep it while your account is open so your report remains available. We permanently destroy it within 30 days after you ask us to delete your photos or your account, and in any case no later than 24 months after your last interaction with the Service, or earlier once the purpose of collection has been satisfied.
- Security: we protect it with at least the same care we use for our other confidential information.
- No model training: we do not use your photos, face geometry or other personal information to train large language models or any other models.
5. Health-related information
Some information, such as smoking habits, interest in aesthetic procedures and facial analysis results, may be considered consumer health data under laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act. How we collect, use and share it is described in our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
6. How we share information
We share personal information only with:
- hosting, database, file storage and image processing infrastructure providers (United States);
- report production infrastructure providers (United States), to prepare the text and images of your report;
- Stripe (United States), to process payments and refunds;
- our email infrastructure provider (United States), to send sign-in codes and notices;
- Mixpanel (EU data center), for product usage analytics;
- Meta Platforms, to measure the results of our ads. When you start checkout or make a purchase, we send Meta the order value and the codes of the products purchased, together with one-way hashed versions of details such as your email address, name, date of birth, gender and country, and your IP address and browser information. We never share your photos or face geometry with Meta;
- authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect rights and safety, and a successor in a merger or acquisition.
We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of Meta's ad measurement tools may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or "targeted advertising," under some US state laws. You can opt out as described in Section 9.
8. How long we keep information
- Account and report data: while your account is open; deleted within 30 days after a deletion request.
- Photos, face geometry and report images: as described in Section 4, and no later than 24 months after your last interaction.
- Payment, refund and invoice records: for the period required by tax and commercial law, up to 10 years.
- Support emails: 2 years after the request is closed.
- Analytics and security logs: pseudonymized, up to 2 years.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including under the privacy laws of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and other US states, you may have the right to:
- know and access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- receive a portable copy of your information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising;
- limit the use of sensitive information, and withdraw consent you have given.
You can review and update your account details at any time in Settings › Account Details. To make any other request, email bonjour@laclarte.appfrom the email address on your account (for an opt-out, use the subject line "Do Not Share"). We verify requests by matching that email address. An authorized agent may submit a request with your written permission. We respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying with the subject line "Appeal"; we will answer within 45 days, and if you are not satisfied you may contact your state attorney general. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
If you are in Türkiye, the European Union or another country with data protection laws, you have the rights those laws give you, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. Users in Türkiye can find the full KVKK notice in the Turkish version.
10. International transfers
We and most of our service providers are located in the United States; analytics data is stored in the European Union. Your information is therefore processed outside your country, with safeguards required by applicable law.
11. Children
The Service is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we delete it without delay if we learn that we have.
12. Security
